HAL is a Lloyds Members agent and the largest adviser to private capital at Lloyds. HAL gives advice on underwriting affairs to individual and corporate investors on an unlimited or limited liability basis, including individual Members, Namecos, and Limited Liability Partnerships. We currently act for over a thousand Members of Lloyds, advising investors underwriting over £1.8bn. This includes recommending syndicates, assessing market trends, and providing analytical and administrative services. We also offer tailored ways of participating in the Lloyds insurance market, arrange transactions in stop loss and other relevant products, and continually develop new ones.

Syndicate Portfolio Management
HALs in-house expertise is supported by direct access to market views and the latest information, and skilled market analysis by our highly respected research team. This powerful combination enables us to select and recommend syndicate portfolios, as demonstrated by the success of HALs clients in comparison to the market.

Members may tailor their portfolio, according to their appetite for risk, or participate in a Members Agent Pooling Arrangement (MAPA) supporting syndicates selected by HAL. HALs MAPAs underwrite across a number of syndicates and a variety of business classes, thus spreading risk.

Client Information
HAL provides Members with information relevant to their underwriting interests through personal letters, bulletins, reports (including syndicate analyses), email updates, and access to the Members section of HALs website. HAL also organises presentations and encourages Members to meet their advisers regularly.
